Las Isletas de Granada is a stunning group of more than 300 small islands located on Lake Nicaragua just outside the city.

The islands were formed thousands of years ago when nearby Mombacho Volcano erupted, scattering large rocks across the lake.

Today many of the islands are covered with tropical vegetation, while others contain small homes, restaurants, or nature reserves.

Visitors can explore the islets by boat tour, kayak, or private guide.
