Iglesia La Merced is one of the most historic churches in Granada and a favorite stop for visitors exploring the city’s colonial architecture.
The church dates back to the 16th century and features a beautifully preserved Baroque façade. While the interior is modest compared to the cathedral, the main attraction is the bell tower.
A short climb up the tower leads to one of the most famous viewpoints in Granada. From the top, visitors can see the entire historic center, the colorful rooftops of colonial homes, and even Lake Nicaragua in the distance.
Sunset is especially popular for photography.
